Monitoring Availability and Capacity of the U25 Counseling Service

U25 is a volunteer-run counseling service of Caritas Germany for young people at risk of suicide, whose availability fluctuates due to capacity constraints. Availability is communicated via a traffic-light system for ten online counseling centers as well as an overall indicator, but this has not yet been systematically analyzed. Information on service utilization is relevant for political and external advocacy, internal management, and potentially for research purposes. The main focus is on political and external use, including the creation of clear, impactful visualizations and reproducible code that can be adopted by the Caritas data team. Additionally, prototype visualizations and code to process API data into a SQL database will support future internal dashboards and management processes.
