Analysis of a Member Survey by the Scout Association North

For its first ever project, CorrelAid collaborated with the Pfadfinder- und Pfadfinderinnenbund Nord based in Hamburg. This organization is composed of 15 distinct groups, referred to as "Stämme," and currently boasts approximately 1000 members. Previously, in 2009 and 2014, the Pfadfinder- und Pfadfinderinnenbund Nord conducted member surveys, each involving more than 500 participants. The CorrelAid team undertook the analysis of these surveys.

The project team, consisting of five members located in various cities across Germany and Switzerland, collaborated exclusively through online channels. Utilizing descriptive techniques, the team processed the data to provide the scounts with a comprehensive overview of their rapidly expanding membership. Moreover, the team compared the Pfadfinderbund's dataset with information gleaned from other youth studies. This comparative analysis aimed to ascertain whether the Pfadfinder membership was representative of urban youth in general.

Through this endeavor, CorrelAid facilitated the alignment of the Pfadfinders' activities with the preferences and interests of their existing members and potentially interested young individuals, aiding them in their mission.
