Expats at CorrelAid – Kick-off Meeting for our new channel

The expats channel is meant to be a digital home for those of us who are currently or permanently living outside Germany but still want to stay involved in the CorrelAid community. In a way, this could become CorrelAid’s “expat chapter.”

Carlo joined CorrelAid as a volunteer in 2025 and lives in Norway as an expat himself. That's why he had the idea to found a channel where expats can connect and exchange.

Here are some ideas what the channel could be:

  • Supporting CorrelAid or local chapters with skills that may not be available locally — whether technical expertise or language/cultural knowledge
  • Serving as contact points for CorrelAid members who plan to go abroad and are looking for advice
  • Offering online workshops or presentations (maybe you’ve recently completed an interesting data project you’d like to share?)
  • …and anything else we come up with together
