Get to know Git beyond status / commit -m / push.

In this Git Advanced workshop you will learn about the power of modern versioning tools and how they enable teams to cooperate in small to large code bases. In this course we will cover repository locality, repo branches, what a 'merge conflict' is, how and why they arise, and how to effectively resolve them - alone or as a team.
This course will be hands-on; your terminal, vim or any modern IDE will do to participate.

Fabio will host this workshop. He is a volunteer at CorrelAid and introduces himself like this:
“Hi, my name is Fabio, I am a Data Infrastructure Engineer with multiple years of working in (distributed) agile teams. Git has always been (and will also continue to be) an essential part of that work as a team work enabler."

Target group:
The workshop is aimed at volunteers who support non-profit organizations in our data projects or are interested in doing so. However, feel free to join if you're interested in Git in general.

Format:

  • 90-minutes interactive online workshop.
  • Exchange with other volunteers.
  • You will receive a certificate of participation for taking part.

If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact our education team (education@correlaid.org).

Our Data4Good Volunteering workshop series prepares you for your involvement with CorrelAid – whether you want to participate in data projects or assist with our data courses as a tutor. Participation is voluntary, but it will provide you with valuable knowledge, practical tips, and confidence for your involvement. You will also receive a certificate of participation, and your participation may be considered positively when you apply to work on a project.
